If your schedule allows you to book last minute, call your local travel agencies or look online for vacations a week or two before you hope to travel. You can also save money by departing and returning mid-week since most people want to fly on weekends.
“For even further discounts, it pays to be flexible about your departure city. Even if this means purchasing a connecting flight to the cheapest departure city, it often works out cheaper to fly into a city during non-Spring Break and depart from there. I am surprised at how few people actually do this. I have noticed $300 to $400 price differences during the same time, to the same resort, between Montreal and Toronto departures. Hop on Via Rail, drive or catch a cheap flight, and the vacation is now half price.”
