THE PARTY ACTIVITY
Making DIY glitter “snow” globes is a great party activity for all ages. Guests will be delighted to take these fun favours home with them.
Materials list:
- clean glass jars with lids
- distilled water & glycerine (sold at drugstores)
- plastic figurines (hula girls, fish, palm trees, etc.)
- shells
- glitter
- metallic plastic “foil” (cut from craft sheets)
- sequins
- glue gun & sticks
- superglue
- Start by hot-gluing a seashell inside the lid for the figurine to stand on. Superglue the figurine in place.
- While waiting for the superglue to dry, fill the jar with a half ’n’ half mix of distilled water and glycerine. Add glitter, as well as metallic plastic “foil” cut to confetti size. Screw on the jar lid.
- Invert the globe and shake. If satisfied with the effect, turn lid side up and remove the lid. Dry it, squeeze hot glue onto the lid threads, then screw on. Hot-glue sequins or shells onto the lid exterior.
