Creating your couple’s sanctuary
For best results, practice Lovers’ Massage on a large futon or a comforter on the floor. You can also do this series on your bed, but skip the standing massage techniques.

  • Shower and freshen up: wear loose, comfortable clothing that feels good to stretch in.
  • Use mints for fresh breath, and have drinking water available.
  • Take breaks, and feed each other tasty snacks like pieces of fruit or chocolate. Present your snacks on a fancy tray.
  • Turn all phones off; find a quiet private space; limit all distractions.
  • Play music to set an intimate mood. Have a selection of your favourite love songs that you both enjoy.
  • Dim the lights, and light some candles.
  • Keep pillows and blankets handy. Make sure neither of you gets chilly.
  • Use natural water-based massage-oil products that won’t stain clothes or bedding. Choose a scent that you know your partner loves.

Take turns practicing the following massages and stretches on one another.
