Personalize the details. Lenora Keats, a mom of two in Kelowna, B.C., capitalizes on her tweens’ love of photography with a structured hunt: “We ask them to find and photograph signs of spring (like crocuses, robins, buds and worms).” Anna Isler, a mom of two in Montreal, brings a vat of coffee from her neighbourhood café. “It tends to still be a bit cool out, so I set up a coffee station on my porch. I get to relax, it keeps everyone warm and I score my good-neighbour points, without having to clean up the shambles beyond my front hall.”
