‘Fraidy cakes
In microwave-safe cup, blend food dye with ready-made white icing, to desired colour. Heat in microwave 20-30 seconds, until consistency of syrup; stir. Dip room-temperature cupcakes into melted icing. Decorate in small batches of three or four, before icing sets, with marshmallows and chocolate chips for small cupcakes, and gummy discs and almond slivers for large cupcakes. Reheat icing to desired consistency between batches, stirring evenly.
Tip: Break out the cake mix – no one can tell, anyway.
