George Foussias, dad of Yannis, 7, and Maria, 3
ON BEING A DAD It has more or less put my better character traits to good use and dissipated the lesser ones.
WHY THE TATTOO I felt creating these tattoos was the right form of expressing where I was in my life. A number of different aspects converged and became part of the artwork.
STORY BEHIND THE INK The arrows that wrap around my forearms represent the dynamic sphere I have become familiar with through training in the Japanese martial art, Aikido. The black widow spiders have a “Y” on my right arm for my son’s name and an “M” on my left for my daughter’s.
WHAT THE KIDS THINK They love them. My son is a visual artist like myself and appreciates the artwork and my daughter every now and then becomes mesmerized by them.
