Pork Won Ton Soup

Wish reader Valerie Foster remembers folding hundreds of won tons with her sisters while their mom, Stella Liwanpo, mixed large quantities of meat. Valerie says the whole process was "really a family affair.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 pounds lean ground pork, cooked
  • 1/4 Cups shrimp, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon each soy sauce and mirin
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 package won ton wrappers
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 8 Cups chicken broth
  • Directions
  • 1.

    Mix ground pork, shrimp, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil and half the chopped green onions.

  • 2.

    Place one teaspoon of the mixture on each individual won ton. Brush edge with water and fold in half diagonally. Bring the longest two ends together, sealing with water and a firm pinch.

  • 3.

    Gently drop won tons into simmering chicken broth. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until they float to the surface. Place 5 won tons in serving bowls an ladle broth over top. Garnish with remaining green onions.
