Meat and Spinach Dip

Next time you're entertaining, wow your guests with this restaurant style dip, baked hot from your oven. Serve with toasted nacho chips, warm pita slices or crusty bread.

Ingredients
  • 2 small boxes of frozen spinach, defrosted
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 small onion, sliced thin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 3/4 Cups cream
  • 1/4 Cups whipping cream
  • 1 Cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 Cups cheddar cheese, grated
  • 6 breakfast pork sausages (hot for extra flavour), sliced
  • 1 Cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1salt and pepper to taste
  • Directions
  • 1.

    Drain and leave spinach to dry.

  • 2.

    Heat oven to 400 degrees.

  • 3.

    Grease a shallow baking dish with oil.

  • 4.

    Fry sausages, onions, garlic and mushrooms until onions are softened.

  • 5.

    Mix eggs, milk, cream, salt and pepper together in a large bowl.

  • 6.

    Stir the spinach, cheese and cooked onions and mushrooms into egg mixture.

  • 7.

    Transfer to greased dish and bake for 45 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and the top has browned.

  • 8.

    Serve with crusty bread.
