One Million Moms Hating on Miley
Our friend and colleague Alicia McAuley posted a very interesting post on her blog recently about the radical Christian group One Million Moms decrying Miley Cyrus for making gay-positive comments on her Twitter feed, such as “I am a Christian and I love you—gay or not—because you are no different than anyone else! We are all God’s children.” We suspect Miley made these comments in response to the kafuffle around Miss California and her anti same-sex marriage stance during the recent Miss USA pageant. Here’s an excerpt from Alicia’s site:
“Yes, One Million Moms—a “special project” of the American Family Association—apparently hates Miley Cyrus and her evil messages of love and acceptance so much, that they’ve started a letter writing campaign. Now you, too, can let this poor, misguided teen icon know that the positive comments she directed at fellow human beings on the Interweb are “shocking and heartbreaking,” not to mention “not Biblically correct,” and that she needs to STFU before her soul burns in hell and crazy people picket her funeral. (Okay, I’m paraphrasing that last bit, but trust me, the letter is just plain ridiculous.)”
Apparently this group is also speaking out against Quizno’s and Campbell’s Soup. Not sure about Quizno’s, but they’re upset with Campbell’s Soup for advertising in the Advocate, one of the largest LGBT publications in the U.S.
Perhaps even more interesting is the fact that, since May 1st, One Million Moms has removed the Miley Cyrus campaign from their list of “issues.” We have, however, found the text of the call-to-action from One Million Moms director Monica Cole on the American Family Association website (which is affiliated with One Million Moms).
Like Alicia, we’re shocked that this kind of blind hatred still exists. Especially coming from a group of parents. What do you think?

I’ve always liked this quote:
“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” — Mahatma Gandhi
Can’t we all just along? It just seems so funny that people need to form “groups” to get a hate on…….I wouldn’t take it too seriously, as other “hate on groups” well known in WWII Germany and southern based “White only” groups would be considered their peers, and we all know how much those groups are valued in common society.
[...] darn cool” files, earlier this week my post about One Million Moms got a shout out from Canadian Family! And did I mention that the letter writing campaign against Miley has vanished from their website? [...]
She is right , we are all God’s children. However the point of Jesus is not about being a person who accepts all things and that we become blind to what is wrong with the world. He was not a passivist to say the least. He cut to theart of matters, the depth of where evil breeds is each of our hearts , the core of our thoughts and the mind. He came to die for sin, period, He is the way the truth and the life. He was God in the flesh. That is the point, that we have a serious dilemma on our hands that we inherited, this took priority over sickness and disease and handicaps. Sin caused death biblically speaking, sin is at the beginning of all that lacks harmony in nature and all that is broken with humanity. Although He calls us to forgive as He forgives and God comes to wash the feet of the disciples and I agree that the people who are hating on Miley hav some sort of spiritually transmitted disease ogf legalism, they are not wrong in standing up for what is the boundary of right and wrong fundamentally speaking this is true by evidence of our own consciousness written in the hearts of men and women. Jesus is the Father also and also the lamb that is sacrificed, but for sin, meaning sin was so atrocious and awful and keeps us form being in Gods presence, His special creations were madeto live with His love , among His love but we used our free will to do as we choose, choosing to taste and recive the knowledge of good and evil. we departed form His ways and choose independence from God. To answer this God drilled the Commandments into the minds of the Jews , a chosen race and then wlaked among us, Jesus, Immanuel, to project and radiant the message of salvation to all people of the world.
And as far as the Gandhi comment, well, yeah he is right, and becasue he is right and thinks about it so much that it is interesting he would be judgemental as though gandhi was so righteous, the funny thing is the Bible says no one is righteous and that is why we would need forgiveness of sins, and a Holy One to give us a true altar to even be in the presence of anything holy. So in essence Gandhi is right, man Christians are messed up , but that is what makes it true. And did you ever know a real good christian who is following, they are hated anyway becasue of there prudence , it is convicting for people and they criticize anyway. So watch who YOU judge, Miley is borderline Idlatry anyway, so if people really trusted God they would not waste time with her and her actions anyway. She says she is a Christian, well all that means is she supposedly admits she is wrong and a sinner and will receive Gods own Son, who is one with the Father, His blood, His sacrifice to cover her own sins. How she follows well that is her relationship with God and upto her. So who is judging who here. AGys are welcome and forgiven but the Bible really tlks about Jesus then mentioning “follow Me” and “sin no more”. I more like Miley am completely humbled by own sin and failures, I encourage gays to come to The Father and what they choose is upto them, but sin is still sin. I cannot water it down that way.
Leave Miley alone already.
