One love, one heart, let’s let together and feel all right…

Cedella Marley, oldest daughter of the legendary Bob Marley, is dedicated to keeping her father’s message—and his memory—alive. In her new picture book, One Love: Based on the Song by Bob Marley, Cedella transports readers into the heart of one girl’s journey to transform her neighbourhood into something better, using lyrics from the popular song and colourful illustrations by Vanessa Brantley-Newton.

“When my father sang ‘One Love,’ he felt it all the way—heart and soul, mind and body,” writes Cedella, in the book. “He thought a world united by love was possible, and it is. All we’ve got to do, he said, is ‘Give a little, take a little.’ My father wanted people to embrace one another and take care of one another. That was as is the message of ‘One Love.’”

This book is not only a fun, colourful read for little ones, but also a great way to spread Bob Marley’s message and teach this beloved song to a new generation of music lovers.

One Love: Based on the Song by Bob Marley, $17, Chronicle Books. Also available at amazon.ca.
