Discovering a unique piece of art or statement jewelery or eco-conscious fashion or handmade home decor is like finding precious treasure buried under the rubble of knock-offs and plastic pretenders; at the One of a Kind Spring Show and Sale, you will find none of the latter.

Founded in 1975 by a local Toronto artist looking to showcase her work, the One of a Kind Show has expanded ten-fold in the last few decades to include five different shows in as many cities across North America.

Here in Toronto, the two shows which include the One of a Kind Spring Show and Sale and One of a Kind Christmas Show and Sale have become indie-shopping staples for people in search of something wonderful and original, and the kids’ market has not been left behind.

The following slide show showcases some of the homegrown Canadian artisans attending the show that have a knack for children’s clothing, toys and accessories that you would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.

The show begins March 30 and runs to April 2. Weds – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Direct Energy Center Exhibition Place.

Tickets are $12 for adults (or $10 online), $6.50 for seniors and youth (13-17) and FREE for children 12 and under.

Special Show Features include:

  • over 450 Canadian artists, crafters, designers
  • a first-come, first-serve complimentary babysitting service
  • One of a Kind Art Craft Class for Kids presented by DeSerres
  • free parcel check and carry out
