Back in the day, many of us learned about working for wages via our “allowance.” We washed a few dishes, dusted some furniture, and watched the dollars shiny quarters roll in. But does giving an allowance for chores send the wrong message? Should kids be paid for doing things around the house that they ought to do (ie. tidy their rooms, help with dishes, etc.) already?
