Gauzy cotton mesh from the fabric store makes the perfect Halloween table runner. Heavy silver candlesticks lend an opulent touch, and glossy black and white dishes are the perfect serving vessels. We turned a pedestal stand with a glass cloche into a display case for a ball of chrysanthemums (we stuck the flowers into a ripe pear to hold the shape, but if you want it to last for a week, use florists’ foam).
