What about the syrup?

Pancake syrup tastes so good, but its not so great for the waistline. In fact 1/4 cup of a popular pancake syrup brand has 205 calories. Can’t imagine your short stack without it? “I would say, limit the syrup to one tablespoon, abut 50 calories worth,” says Shauna Lindzon, a consulting dietitian in Toronto. “Better yet, add stewed fruit (fruit brought to a boil with water or juice, then simmered) instead: for example, apples cooked with cinnamon, strawberries with fresh tarragon, or mango with sliced ginger.”
