Essential for a mom’s overall health—fatty acids with EPA and DHA have been linked to improved heart health, cancer reduction and cognitive improvement—they are also extremely important for baby’s brain and nervous system development. Get your omegas from a food source like salmon or tuna, and aim for two servings per week.
Tip: If you don’t eat fish, be sure to ask your doctor before you begin taking any omega supplements because most include fish oil.
