Anne Murray’s Christmas Album by Anne Murray (EMI, $13).

Anne Murray is a pro when it comes to creating holiday ambiance. This album features an array of classic songs such as Joy To the World, Winter Wonderland, and Jingle Bell Rock. As a special Christmas gift the album comes with the Friends and Legends DVD featuring duets with Olivia Newton John, Celine Dion and K.D. Lang.

The Dawn of Grace by Sixpence None the Richer (Nettwerk, $15).

In the late 1990s there was a little musical group with a much bigger name. Famous for their hit Kiss Me, Sixpence None the Richer, fronted by vocalist Leigh Nash, is back with 10 holiday hits, both new and old.

A Jazz & Blues Christmas by Various Artists (Putumayo World Music, $18).

The best from the world of jazz and blues are gathered together on one disc to bring listeners a sultry, inviting take on holiday classics. With the help of well-known artists like B.B. King, Ray Charles and Emilie-Claire Barlow, this collection puts a bit of soul back into the holidays.

A Winter Symphony by Sarah Brightman (Manhattan, $15).

With her signature voice, Brightman’s takes on holiday favourites such as Silent Night and Ave Maria coat the holiday season with a sense of romance and hope. The disc’s full orchestra proves to be the icing on the gingerbread house, making A Winter Symphony a holiday must have.
