Keep a list of emergency phone numbers where everyone can see them
Sounds basic, right? It should be. Every home should have a master list of numbers that can be referred to at a moment’s notice by a parent, childcare-giver or grandparent. It is easy to panic if an accident happens, so keep it on the fridge or near the phone where you know you can find it quickly. The contact list should include emergency medical services (in most places this is 9-1-1), your family doctor, pediatrician, local poison control, your cell number, plus the number of a trusted relative or neighbour. Include any medical conditions or allergies (especially medication) next to each family member’s name as well as their health card information. Plug this info into your PDA, and yes, there is an app or two (e.g., iEmergency Plus) for just this type of thing for the iPod Touch and iPhone.
