DON’T
Assume nut-free is just an option
Pay attention if your teacher says there are allergies in the class. According to Statistics Canada, close to 90,000 kids are allergic to peanuts, and, as a result, most schools are nut-free zones. Don’t send your kids to school with any foods that contain peanuts or tree nuts or may contain traces of these nuts. Many pre-packaged snacks are manufactured in nut-free facilities and labelled as such. If your child eats peanut butter for breakfast, you should wash his hands and face, brush his teeth and change his clothes before he goes to school.
