on a wire
Supplies Needed:
• Scanned photos
• Cardstock paper
• Printer that prints on heavyweight paper
• Picture frame wire
• Eye screws
• Binder clips
How to make it:
1 Scan and enlarge your favourite black and white photos. 2 Print them on cardstock or watercolour paper. (If you don’t have the necessary equipment or know-how, your local copy centre can do this for you.) 3 Leaving a 2″ or 3″ border around each image, fold, crease and tear the paper to create a soft edge.
How to hang it:
1 Measure the length of your wire and mark the endpoints on the wall for your highest line of photographs. 2 Mark another set of endpoints 18″ below the first. Repeat for the third line. 3 Install screw eyes and attach wires to make tight lines. 4 Using binder clips or small clothes pegs, space the photos equally apart, and clip them to the wires.
Clipped photos are especially suited to a more eclectic home. This is a great way to personalize a sofa or daybed, and a fun alternative to a standard headboard. The more rows, the more dramatic the impact.
