Think long term. Your little one’s well-designed in-ground sandbox can, with little effort, become your gorgeous cutting garden when he’s decided that he’s too old to make mud pies. A custom-designed wooden pergola or arbour with an attached swing compares in price to a mid-sized play set—which one will you still love in two years? Your landscape plans should be flexible to accommodate your family’s evolving needs.
