Cut strips of fabric in the shape of Dad’s tie. Lie the pieces in a row so that the long sides are touching. Sew the fabric strips together so that you have a long panel of different-coloured sections—the costume should taper out from the neck and get wider at the bottom. Try it on your child to judge where the armholes should be, then cut. Attach string at the top of each end of the jester outfit and use this to tie the costume. For the hat: decorate a Styrofoam cone with fabric and pompoms and attach string to tie it on his head. Approx. cost $20.
