A safe and spooky night
How to make sure your home is safe for trick-or-treaters this Halloween
Tidy up the yard
Stash away anything that costumed and mask-wearing kids could trip over, such as hoses, rakes or toys. Clear any wet leaves or ice from your sidewalk, driveway and stairs.
Turn on your lights
Sure, being in the dark is part of the fun, but make sure ghosts and goblins can find their way to your door.
Can the candles
Use battery-operated lights for pumpkins. You can reuse them year after year and not have to worry about your jack-o’-lantern being tipped over.
Put away pets
Excited kids and dogs are not a good match. Don’t take the chance of your dog becoming frightened and scaring little visitors.
