Limoncello Martini

Tart but sweet this drink can be served all year round.

Ingredients
  • ice
  • 5 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 ounces of vodka
  • 1 ounce of limoncello
  • 1 teaspoon of simple syrup (see recipe below)
  • 1 slice (or twist) of lemon
Directions

  1. Create simple syrup by combining two parts granulated sugar with one part water. Simmer, stirring, over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Chill before using.

  2. Fill a shaker with ice.

  3. Measure three tablespoons of sugar on a small plate. Run a lemon slice along edge of martini glass and dip in sugar to coat rim.

  4. Add vodka, limoncello and simple syrup.

  5. Shake well and strain into martini glass.

  6. Garnish each with a lemon twist or slice.
