Hot Buttered Rum
Take the chill off a cold winter's day with a mug-full of hot buttered rum. We make ours extra special with the addition of apple cider. Rum can be omitted for a non-alcoholic version.

Ingredients
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 4 1/2 cups apple cider or hot water
- 6 (6-inch) cinnamon sticks
- 1 1/2 cups (12 oz) spiced rum or dark rum
Directions
In a small bowl, cream butter, honey and cloves together until smooth and chill.
In a medium saucepan, bring apple cider to a boil.
Place a cinnamon stick in each of 6 heatproof glasses or mugs. Add 1/4 cup rum and 3/4 cup hot apple cider to each glass. Divide butter mixture into 6 (about 1 rounded teaspoon each) and add to each glass. Stir with cinnamon stick and serve.
