Ingredients
  • 1 can of tuna, drained
  • 1/2 Cups of diced apple (green give a tart flavour)
  • 1/2 Cups of mayonnaise
  • 2 chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon of dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoons of good balsamic vinegar
  • 4 slices toasted bread (rye works well)
  • 4 tablespoons of toasted, well chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 Cups grated cheddar cheese
  • Directions
  • 1.

    Mix the tuna, apple, mayonnaise, onion, mustard and balsamic in a bowl.

  • 2.

    Spread about 1/4 of the tuna mixture on each slice of bread and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon toasted nuts.

  • 3.

    Place the grated cheese on the tops of each sandwich. Broil for about 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
