All new parents are told that the days are long, but the years are short. It’s hard to imagine, but one day your toddler’s hands will grow, seemingly overnight. Little lisps disappear, pant legs shrink, hairstyles change and suddenly that babe seems awfully grown up.
We can’t keep them small forever, but it’s amazing to look back and see how far our kids have come (and us, too).
Check out Lotte Time and Vince, a pair of lovely video mementos from Frans Hofmeester. This filmaker dad edited together clips of his daughter Lotte, and son Vince, and they grow up before our eyes, Lotte from from birth to 12 years, and Vince from newborn to 9-year-old. We love that Hofmeester used video clips instead of stills—it’s fun to remember little mannerisms, and watch tween hairstyles emerge. We also love that Lotte never, ever seems to stop talking. Watch to see if you can spot a black eye, a pirate face, and some gap-toothed smiles.
