“Find something you like,” says Jacqueline Walters, vice-president of group fitness at Extreme Fitness in Toronto and a member of the Canadian national kickboxing team. Exercise has to be fun or you won’t stick with it. Not everyone is made to run on the treadmill and lift weights. Think outside of the box. Play street hockey with your child, join a softball league or do yoga in a unique location. “Not moving is not an option,” says Stephanie Joanne, a personal trainer and fitness expert for Citytv’s CityLine.
More fitness excuses, busted:
#1: “I don’t have time.”
#2: “It’s too expensive.”
#3: “I don’t know where to start.”
#4: “I don’t like exercise.”
#5: “I’m too tired.”
#6: “I’m not athletic.”

#12: “I’m trying to get pregnant, and I worry that exercise could hurt my chances.”
#13: ”I’m pregnant.”

#17: ”I don’t know what to do with my kids when I work out.”
