To make: Buy four feet of bamboo, cut to various sizes (different lengths will create a range of harmonica-like hums), paint and then use string and hot glue to assemble. Total cost: $10.
Tip: When cutting, be sure that each piece has a joint (the ridge where the smooth sections meet) at one end.
