We saved a bundle cutting up our own fresh fruit, rather than splurging on a more expensive (and less delicious) pre-made tray. We bought baked goodies and cut them into manageable bites before serving. (Even better, ask baking-inclined coworkers to supply a few treats.) Our local cheesemonger recommended a selection of tasty cheeses, served with crackers and flags for identification. Flavoured sparkling water seems very fancy, but it’s actually quite budget-friendly.
