A Great Portable Activity Seat: The Go-Pod

Meet out new gear blogger, Jen!

Jen Wilson is a married mother of three super-awesome children—two girls and a boy—who range in age from 0-10. She enjoys photography, organizing, reading, TV, and sarcasm. She drinks her coffee black and dreams of one day owning a dishwasher. You can also find her on her blog, Hey Mrs. Wilson, where she has been writing about life in Saskatchewan since 2004.

I’m so excited about this opportunity to share gear selections and advice with you. First up? The Go-Pod.

When my oldest, now 10, was a baby, I had a huge, clunky, awkward ladybug exersaucer. It was near impossible to clean spit-up and rice crackers and drool and whatever else out of the bazillion crevices, the toys kind of sucked, and it was not portable in the least. It hardly fit through doorways. I vividly remember wanting to throw it off a bridge and watch it break into a million little pieces on the rocks below. I did that with a rotary phone once. It was fun.

Soon after my son was born this spring, I visited a baby boutique here in town to find a nursing bra. As I was trying it on, one of the sales ladies offered me a Go-Pod for my little one to sit in. I’d never seen one before, but I was instantly smitten. It was perfectly square! It folded up! It didn’t have any annoying toys attached! It adjusted for his large size!

I picked one up a couple weeks later and I absolutely love it. I can fold it up and store it if we need space in the living room, I can take it to my in-laws’ place for Sunday dinners, and I can move it easily from room to room. And, most importantly, my son loves it.

Go-Pod, $60. To find one online or near you, just click here.
