How to Transition from Breast to Bottle to Solids

How to Transition from Breast to Bottle to SolidsFrom breast to bottle

    1. If you are looking to bring the bottle into your baby’s routine, start out with one bottle a day, or every other day, and gradually increase. And, give dad a chance to feed the little one — it will help them bond and will give you some time off.
    2. If your baby isn’t taking to the bottle, it could be the bottle and not the process. Try a variety of bottle types (click here to see more of our favourites) and different nipples (made of latex or silicone and with flow rates corresponding with ages) to find the best match for your babe.

From bottle to solids

  1. Look for signs that your baby is ready for solids, including head control, showing interest in your food and turning away from feedings when full.
  2. Introduce new foods one at a time, and wait a few days in between. This will help determine if your baby has any allergic reactions.
