6 Things You Need to Know About Sleep Training

When did the idea of sleep training become popular?

It was made popular more than 100 years ago by Dr. Luther Emmett Holt, with his bestselling book The Care and Feeding of Children (General Books), and then made popular again in 1946 when Dr. Benjamin Spock published his book Baby and Child Care (Simon & Schuster Canada). Now there are more than 100 books-and numerous websites-where parents can find a variety of ways to implement sleep training, leaving parents overwhelmed and confused as to what is best for their family.
