Celebrate the End of the School Year with Graduation Party Sandwiches

Photography by Trish, via Sweetology

Yesterday on Facebook, we had graduation on our minds. From kindergarten to high school, students all across Canada are finishing up another year of hard work in the classroom. It’s a big deal, graduation—kids have spent the year mastering the finer points of sharing, or fractions, or the periodic table, and now it’s time to celebrate… in style.

We love this sweet and simple idea for an afternoon tea snack to celebrate your little graduate from Trish at Sweetology. Whether your wee one is saying farewell to Kindergarten, Grade 8 or high school, these tasty finger sandwiches are just the thing to take tea time to the next level.

What you’ll need:
Diplomas
• Cream cheese
• Salted butter
• Heavy whipping cream
• Toasted walnuts or pecans (optional)
• Fresh chives
• Fresh white bread

Hats
• Pumpernickel bread
• Havarti cheese
• Salami
• Tomato
• Mayo
• Lemon zest and juice
• Red pepper
• Chives

Trish has the full recipe for these Graduation Party Sandwiches (and more great tea party pics) over on her site. This is one graduation hat kids won’t want to throw in the air!

To complete your graduation party spread, we suggest some Watermelon Raspberry Iced Tea, Chocolate and Dried Cranberry Scones and Lemon and Lavender Shortbread Cookies.
