vegetables and fruit — fresh, frozen or canned are all good choices

• ½ cup 100 percent unsweetened fruit juice or vegetable juice
• ½ cup fresh berries, applesauce or canned fruit
• 1 medium-sized fresh fruit such as an apple, peach, orange, pear
• ½ cup tomato salsa or hummus
• ½ cup (about the size of a computer mouse) cut vegetables
