A Kid-Friendly Winter Treat: Melting Snowman Cupcakes

With the kids around the house over the holidays I get lots of little hands looking to help out in the kitchen. That means I spend a lot of time on the lookout for cute ideas that get the kids involved without too much of a fuss. My kids are avid food television watchers and are always eager to try their hands at preparing food.

I love these Melting Snowman Cupcakes because I can get all of the ingredients together and then just let the kids have fun. It’s a sure-fire way to fill your kitchen with giggles as the kids build their own snowmen. You’ll be amazed how much fun they can have with a little imagination and some piping!

What you’ll need:
• Pre-made cupcakes (or bake your own)
• Pretzel sticks
• Coloured piping gel (you can find this in the baking aisle at your grocery store)
• Chocolate buds
• Large marshmallows

Add the marshmallow to your cupcake (ones with vanilla frosting will work best, as you can see) and have kids decorate their melting snowman any way they wish with the coloured piping gel. You can use a dab of frosting to attach the chocolate bud hat to the marshmallow, then stick in your pretzel arms and enjoy! What could be easier?
