The season of grilling is upon us! It’s that time of the year when the smell of BBQ wafts from backyard to backyard, and everyone wants to eat outdoors. We are big fans of dinner on the grill around these parts—from great grill recipes to homemade BBQ rub, we just can’t get enough.

So you can imagine our delight when we came across this fabulous idea for a fun twist on the traditional barbecued burger over at Kitchen Fun With My Three Sons. Jill creates some awesome meals for her kids (remember the Sesame Street fruit snack?), and this monkey burger is no exception! Plus, it’s so easy to put together, your kids might start asking for Curious George burgers every night!

What you’ll need:
• Whole wheat hamburger buns
• Burgers (beef, veggie—whatever you prefer)
• Cheese (provolone or another white cheese works best)
• Ketchup
• Potato wedges (optional)

Jill has the full details for her Monkey Burgers creation over on her site. Why not challenge your kids to see what other animals they can make out of their burgers? Maybe a cat face, complete with sliced pickle whiskers? Or a bear face with buns as ears? Sometimes playing with your food isn’t such a bad idea after all.
