How we love grilled cheese. Whether it’s white bread and plastic-wrapped squares, or a fancified creation with local cheese, home-baked bread and artisanal charcuterie, you can’t go wrong with with this trusty lunch (and sometimes dinner) staple.
That’s why we’re drooling over the creations offered by Grilled Cheese Academy. In the grand tradition of 30 Days, 30 Ways with Macaroni & Cheese comes another genius microsite from Wisconsin dairy marketers. The Grilled Cheese Academy elevates the humble lunch staple with 30 decadent recipes—that’s a grilled cheese sandwich for every day of the month!
The super site lets you choose the menu by cheese type or by sandwich title, which calls up a recipe so you can create it at home. The food photography is amazing, and we even like the cheeky voice-over description.
At the CF.ca offices, we are partial to The Biloxi (pulled pork, coleslaw and fontina) or The Monroe (Limburgher, bacon, caramelized onions and fig jam), but offerings aren’t limited to savoury selections. From the dessert menu, we suggest The Bianca (which combines mascarpone, dulce de leche and raspberry preserves between slices of cinnamon raisin bread) or The Lisa Marie (made with peanut butter, bananas and mild butterkase). We’re also wondering why we didn’t think of the reader-submitted Nutella, mascarpone and strawberries combo. Ah-mazing. Who knew grilled cheese could be dessert?
