Dinner time can be hectic. The mad dash from work to daycare to home often leaves parents feeling at a loss when they finally get into the kitchen to whip up some supper. We at Canadian Family can relate so here are six great meals in three that make the most of leftovers.

Meal 1: Fiesta Meatballs
Everybody loves meatballs and these are a cinch to make – all you need is a jar of salsa for their almost-instant sauce. Better still, you’ll have leftovers for hearty wraps the next day.

Meal 2: Fast Meatball Tortillas
This recipe is fast when you use the leftovers Fiesta Meatballs from meal 1!

Meal 1: Balsamic Steak
Flank steak is an economical cut of meat that’s most tender served rare or medium-rare. Here, a flavourful balsamic vinegar marinade kicks the flavour up a notch. Team the steak with mashed potatoes and your family’s fave vegetable, then serve up the leftovers in a colourful salad the following day.

Meal 2: Suit-Yourself- Steak Salad
This tasty salad will use up your leftover steak and makes a delicious and light dinner that can be whipped up in mere minutes.

Meal 1: Lemony Chicken Kabobs
Add a twist to chicken and serve it kebab-style, along with rice or pasta, a green salad and tzatziki (a garlicky Greek dip available in the deli section of your supermarket) on the side.

Meal 2: Mediterranean Chicken Pitas
This meal is super-quick and will use up any of the leftover Lemony Chicken Kebabs. Yum!
