Nature Valley Trail Mix Chewy Granola Bars Fruit & Nut

Nutrients per bar (35 g): 150 calories, 4 g fat (0.5 g saturated, 0 g trans), 0 mg cholesterol, 75 mg sodium, 25 g carbs (2 g fibre, 13 g sugars), 3 g protein, 0% vitamin A, 0% vitamin C, 2 % calcium, 4% iron. $3.29 for box of 6.

Family says: Crystal said she liked the texture and thought it was tasty, adding she would buy this one for the family. Dave also enjoyed this bar’s texture but thought it was a little sweet for a granola bar. Caley gave this one a thumbs up, but Carley wasn’t a fan of the fruit in the bar.

Dietitian says: “The first ingredient is granola, which is traditionally made with plenty of oil. They have used unsaturated oils, which is a plus. The amount of sugar is higher than the guidelines from the addition of dried fruit. This would be a good trade off if the fibre was higher, but it’s lower than two of the other bars.”

Final Grade: B-
