The Best Bake Sale Cupcakes

Cute, kitschy, absolutely child-pleasing and easy to make to boot (okay, we confess, this is from a kids' cookbook). All you need do is buy some cupcakes, apply some candy and voila: you're the bake sale queen. And because they're so charming, you can expect each to fetch whatever price you set.

Materials

  • Cupcakes
  • Pale blue or chocolate frosting
  • Six mini marshmallows
  • Black licorice string
  • 1 black sugary gel candy
  • Spoon
  • Knife
  • Scissors

Instructions

1 Frost the cupcake with the frosting.

2 Cut the six mini marshmallows in half. Flatten each marshmallow half with your fingers.

3 Lay the mini marshmallows on the cupcake. Start by putting some in a half-circle, then overlap more to create an inner circle.

4 Cut the black gel candy in half and then cut again to make a triangular shape. Add the triangle piece just above the mini marshmallow pieces to be the sheep’s face.

5 Cut the other half of the gel candy into ear-shaped pieces. Place the ear-shaped pieces to the sides of the triangular piece.

6 Cut four short pieces of black licorice string with scissors. Place the black licorice string pieces beneath the mini marshmallows.
