  • A valuable lesson for little ones to learn is that everything enclosed in a woodland environment, from trees, plants, birds, animals and insects, and even decaying matter, contributes to its awe-inspiring ecosystem. Make sure you take only what you need, and leave growing vegetation intact.
  • Think about starting a ritual of planting a native tree each autumn. Children will relish having a special spot to visit and care for, and enjoy charting the seasonal changes.
  • In one year, an average tree produces enough oxygen for a family of four for one year and each year absorbs the carbon dioxide from four cars.
