It’s opening weekend for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and while we can’t wait to see the film, we’re also a little bit sad that the series that has captivated adults and kids alike is coming to an end after 10 very entertaining years. To celebrate the last decade of Harry’s adventures, why not have a Harry Potter-themed mini-party before you head off to the theatre to see how it all ends?
Of course, no Harry Potter soiree would be complete without a few yummy butterbeer cookies. Luckily, we stumbled across an amazing recipe for the Harry Potter-inspired treats by Bridget Edwards, the brilliant cookie artist (and mom!) behind the site Bake at 350. Complete with a decadent butterbeer glaze, it’s sure to impress little wizards and muggles alike.
What you’ll need:
Cookies
• All-purpose flour
• Baking powder
• Granulated sugar
• Light brown sugar
• Butter
• Egg
• Butter flavouring
• Pure vanilla extract
Glaze
• Butterscotch chips
• Evaporated milk
• Light corn syrup
• Coarse salt
You’ll find the full recipe and baking instructions over at Bake at 350. We think the butterbeer glaze would be heavenly over a little vanilla ice cream, too.
Will you be heading to the theatre this weekend to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2? Which of the films has been your kids’ favourite so far?
