Rainy Day Craft: Polka-Dotted Umbrella

Splashing in spring puddles is even more fun with your very own umbrella. Customize this easy kids' craft by incorporating your child's favourite colours and shapes.

Bring a little sunshine to rainy spring days with a playful polka-dotted umbrella. Using round foam stamps (we like Martha Stewart Crafts’ Foam Pouncers Set, which includes six sizes) and acrylic fabric paint, create your custom design on an open umbrella. (We used smaller dots near the middle of the umbrella and incorporated larger stamps as we moved outward to the edges.) Set aside to dry overnight.

Tip: Hold a hard book under the fabric of the umbrella when stamping for easier polka-dotting.
