Make Your Own Personalized Magnetic Chore Board

Let your kids pick their chores with this practical (and cute) DIY idea

Photography by Jaime Baeza, The Baeza Blog

We found this craft over at The Baeza Blog (via Pinterest), and we think it’s a great way to keep track of the chores your little helpers do around the house. Basically, you make a list of things that need to be done and let your kids pick what they want to do each week. If you give your children an allowance based on their chores, you can add a dollar amount to the chore magnet as well. You can customize your board to add as many chores (and how much they are worth) as you wish!

What you’ll need:
• Wooden boards (number and size depends on how many children you have)
• Sheet metal
• Glue gun
• Scissors
• Small wooden discs (your craft store or dollar store may carry bags of these)
• Magnets
• Paper
• Marker
• Ribbon
• Paint

Not only will this DIY chore board keep you organized, but we think that the creative chore-choosing process may even help to make housework more enjoyable for your kiddies.

You can find the complete directions over on The Baeza Blog. Want more DIY projects? Check out this dry-erase calendar and a super-easy way to organize your craft supplies.
