If you’re looking for a way to add a little Halloween touch to the outside of your home to delight trick-or-treaters, we suggest this fun and easy Halloween rock painting project. Not only is it the perfect craft for little ones (no cutting or gluing required), but it’s also very budget-friendly, as the key element is already sitting right in your yard.
We spotted this great idea over at Multiples & More, where it was shared by crafty mama Tonya Staab. We like that the craft also involves an outdoor element (enjoy that fresh air before the snow starts to fall!) and think “treasure hunting” for oddly shaped rocks may be just as fun for wee ones as the painting itself. And once you’ve got all your rocks, you can head back inside, warm up with a cup of apple cider, and let the painting begin!
What you’ll need:
• Rocks
• Paint brushes
• A dark pencil
• Painters pens (Tonya used Elmer’s white and black pens)
• Various paint colours (outdoor paint will work best if you want to use these in the garden or on a pathway)
You’ll find the full instructions—and some very cute photos—over at Multiples & More. And if you’re looking for more great projects to get your kids in the Halloween spirit, check out our 13 fun Halloween craft ideas.
