DIY Fashion For Kids: A Funky Notebook-Inspired Tee

Photography by Desirée Campbell, The 36th Avenue

We love fashion projects that let kids show off their own unique style, and this awesome notebook t-shirt idea from crafty mama Desirée Campbell at The 36th Avenue is the perfect example. With just a few simple, inexpensive materials, Desirée was able to create a super cute back-to-school tee for her daughter, Anni (pictured left). We love that it looks like a page from a lined notebook, which makes it ideal for doodling on and letting kids customize it to suit their tastes. Talk about one-of-a-kind!

Because there are no glue guns or sewing machines involved, this is an ideal project for kids of all ages. In fact, we think it would make a great activity for a birthday or sleepover party—just break out the Sharpies and let kids go wild!

What you’ll need:
• Plain white t-shirt
• Coloured permanent markers (eg. Sharpies)
• Ruler
• Piece of cardboard
• Stencil

You’ll find the full instructions for this notebook t-shirt project (along with great step-by-step photos) over at The 36th Avenue. If you’re looking for more fabulous DIY fashion projects, check out these t-shirts with “sole,” necktie headbands and DIY infinity scarves.
