Customize Your Coffee Cup With These DIY Monogram Mugs

Photography by Gabrielle Blair, DesignMom.com

Whether you’re a coffee junkie, a tea aficionado or a sipper of hot chocolate, there’s something comforting about having a mug that belongs just to you. For kids, personalized gear is always a hit because it gives them a sense of ownership over something that’s just for them and no one else. So why not give your plain old kitchen mugs a makeover and add a funky monogram?

We found this great idea for DIY monogram mugs over at Design Mom, the website of designer and mom Gabrielle Blair. You can use mugs you already have at home, or check your local thrift store for some second-hand gems. They’re a great project for the whole family—even little crafters!—and are also ultra budget-friendly, which we love.

What you’ll need:
• Plain white mugs (in different shapes and sizes, if you’d like)
• A computer printout with your family’s initials
• Pen
• Tape
• Scissors
• Transfer paper
• Porcelain pen/marker

You’ll find the full instructions for these DIY Monogram Mugs (including step-by-step photos) over at Design Mom. Not only will they add a lovely personal touch to your kitchen, but they’ll also make for a thoughtful handmade gift when packaged with some coffee or hot chocolate (holiday teacher gift, anyone?)
