A bit of random research about John Ratzenberger (Cliff from Cheers and prominent Pixar voice actor) led us to the discovery of the next Pixar film in the works—Monsters University!
A prequel to the wildly popular Monsters Inc., Monsters University will be focus on the university days of Sulley and Mike Wazowski, who strongly dislike each other and aren’t thrilled to be at the same school. We’ll see the formation of their friendship from the very start, as well as the younger, thinner, university-aged versions of our two favourite monsters. Scheduled for release in the summer of 2013, the movie is in production as we speak.
John Goodman and Billy Crystal are both back to voice Sulley and Mike Wazowski, and, yes, John Ratzenberger will be cast somewhere in there (he’s had a role in every Pixar feature made to date!). Steve Buscemi is also scheduled to be back as baddie Randall Boggs.
And if Monsters University is any bit as good as Monsters Inc., we can’t wait to go back to school!
