The editors at Bunch Family and Parentcentral.ca have teamed up for a new fundraising campaign to support the Stephen Lewis Foundation. Called “Dare to Draw,” the campaign challenges wee ones to bust out their crayons and draw a new picture every day for 30 days. Little artists are sponsored by parents, family and friends, who pledge one dollar for each completed work of art. Funds raised will benefit the Stephen Lewis Foundation and grassroots organizations in Africa that help people living with HIV and AIDS.
From the Dare Campaign website:
Every single day, women, men and young people in Africa are pushed to the limit by the AIDS pandemic, and yet still find the strength to bring hope and change to their communities. Canadians are raising funds and taking on Dares that parallel the acts of courage, ingenuity, determination and strength in community exhibited by their African counterparts.
We love the idea of getting kids involved in such a creative endeavour for a great cause. While the Dare to Draw campaign is already in progress, it’s not too late to get in on the fun—you can join a Dare to Draw team and download the Dare pledge and calendar from Bunch Family, or even make a donation to the team of your choice. You can also start a brand new dare with your family at any time! Dare suggestions from the Stephen Lewis Foundation include dressing up as your favourite superhero and cleaning up your local park.
