Jennifer Garner graces the cover of the January 2012 issue of InStyle magazine, in which she talks about her upcoming film, Butter. Butter is a comedy about the cut-throat world of butter carving in small-town Iowa. The movie is stocked with an all-star cast, including Garner, Hugh Jackman, Olivia Wilde (House, Tron: Legacy), Ty Burrell (Modern Family) and Alicia Silverstone.
JustJared.com reports that Jennifer Garner shared with InStyle that she was drawn to her character in Butter for a very particular reason:
“I identified with her loss of identity,” Jen said. “You identify with your career then become a mom and put everything you have into the happiness of those kids. And though I wouldn’t change it for anything, you lose part of yourself.”
What do you think? Did you lose a part of yourself when you became a parent? And if you did, do you miss whatever you lost?
i hardly think you lose yourself when you become a mother ..you gain parts of yourself ,like more love and patience. although i do know lots of people who have “lost “themselves in their work… hmmm
